In Celsineo, the Krone Commercial Vehicle Group in cooperation with Liebherr is presenting a new generation of refrigeration systems for trailers that meets those needs. The two companies have pooled their competence and many years of experience in refrigeration, together with the manufacture, marketing and service of refrigerated semi-trailers, to form a unique concept that brings together modern technology, contemporary design, and high quality for all components. ‘Celsineo represents the most up-todate technology that offers solutions today for the demands of tomorrow. THREE STAND-ALONE MODULES
Celsineo stands out thanks to a whole series of technical features that are unique in this form in trailer refrigeration systems. For example, the system is modular in design: the system distributes the cooling capacity between three identically structured plug-and-play cooling modules, each of which has its own autonomous cooling circuit and is individually controllable, and so enable a highly flexible control strategy. This raises the efficiency throughout the entire operating range to a whole new level. The modular temperature controller also ensures that there is a constant cooling capacity available. This ensures high efficiency both at full load and in the partial-load conditions frequently encountered in practice. At Celsineo, cooling and defrosting can be simultaneous: two of the cooling modules refrigerate while the third is in defrosting mode. This proves effective in minimising the dreaded temperature peaks during the defrosting cycle and in obtaining a permanently more stable temperature progression that keeps the goods in the storage space at the ideal temperature at all times.

FUTURE-PROOF TECHNOLOGY
With Celsineo, service and maintenance of the trailer and of the refrigeration unit can be carried out in a single visit to the repair centre – without the need for a refrigeration engineer. This reduces waiting and down times considerably and maximises operating time. The modules can be upgraded; should new requirements for refrigerants apply in future, say because of statutory guidelines, it will not be necessary to invest in an entirely new system.
