Krone doubles production of swap systems and dry liners
The high demand for exchangeable systems and dry liners from Krone continues unabated. The company will therefore significantly increase production capacity at the Herzlake site and double production output by the end of 2020. “We have already laid the foundation for this production offensive with the introduction of automatic component production in Herzlaker Produktion”, says Bernhard Brüggen, Managing Director of the Krone Commercial Vehicle Group. He points to the high market share of the Krone swap bodies of around 80 per cent: “Our swap bodies and dry liners stand for high product quality, are combined with numerous innovative load securing solutions and are therefore in great demand on the market.” Additionally, the booming online trade is causing a higher demand for these products. At the Herzlake site, Krone manufactures steel swap bodies, curtain swap bodies, box semi-trailers and CEP vehicles for courier and express journeys. The total area of the plant covers around 352,000 square metres. The quality of the production is ensured, among other things, by the coating system with KTL-plus powder coating. The dip coating KTL enables an incomparable corrosion protection.
DELIVERY IN WERLTE WILL BE NEWLY BUILT
Receiving a new vehicle is a special moment for all customers. In future, Krone will offer all guests an even more pleasant reception. The building in which the delivery takes place in Werlte is being rebuilt. In addition to a good atmosphere, the new building will also enable us to offer a faster and more reliable delivery. This new facility will relieve Bernard-Krone-Strasse at the company's headquarters by shifting traffic flows to the outside area. The building is to be completed by the end of 2019.

Stefan Oelker is an experienced marketing expert. Before his new position as Head of Marketing at Krone, the 55-year-old had already held various responsible positions in the advertising industry and in marketing for technical products, most recently as head of marketing and business development at Germany's leading e-bike manufacturer Derby Cycle. “Krone is one of the leading commercial vehicle manufacturers with a portfolio that ranges from long trucks and trailers to electrified load bicycles”, explains Oelker. “Together with the entire Krone team, we want to further promote the positioning of the mobility service provider Krone with all its products and services in Germany and abroad.”
KRONE FUTURE LAB
In Lingen, around 50 kilometres from Werlte, the ground-breaking ceremony for a new validation centre – the Krone Future Lab – took place at the end of February. The new location will serve to technically secure all of Krone's product developments; validation activities within the group will be bundled and further professionalized there. The Future Lab is also intended to encourage free thinking. In the future, further ground-breaking topics can be tackled and promoted here independently of day-to-day business.
