W
hen Fahrzeugwerk Krone was founded 50 years ago, Heinemann was one of the first names on the order books: Even back then, the haulage company from Korbach in the federal state of Hesse relied on the quality of the trailers from Werlte in order to successfully drive its own growth. From the first business premises, which Walther Heinemann set up on his parents’ property in 1945, the freight forwarding company developed into a renowned medium-sized company that is now one of the permanent fixtures in the industry. “We combine traditional values such as quality and punctuality with state-of-the-art transport solutions”, says Susanne-Petra Heinemann.
CORE COMPETENCE IN FULL TRUCKLOAD SHIPPING
The daughter of the company’s founder now runs Heinemann GmbH in its second generation. “Reliability and performance have always been the cornerstones of our work in the interest of our customers”, explains the business graduate. “All employees identify with the individual transport needs of our customers. This means that we can guarantee the highest level of quality, consistency and adherence to deadlines.” The company’s core competence lies in full truckload shipping and customer-related distribution transport, as well as in the handling of new furniture transport operations. Heinemann offers regional, national and international deliveries. “With just-in-time transport operations, we demonstrate our reliability and flexibility”, says Susanne-Petra Heinemann. They see thorough transport consultation and the conscientious execution of all orders as the foundation of many years of trusting cooperation with customers.
There are flat hierarchies in the freight forwarding company, the customers always have fixed points of contact, and the transport services are provided firsthand – with our own driving personnel and our own vehicle fleet. The goals that the freight forwarding company sets for itself are also to be achieved sustainably from an ecological point of view: “That’s why we regularly invest in a modern fleet – all vehicles comply with the Euro 6 standard and we also have some gas vehicles in operation.”
AN ANNIVERSARY IS “JUST” A STOPOVER
In 2020, Heinemann celebrated its 75th anniversary. The company can look back on many successful decades, throughout which time it has always developed further, opened petrol stations and added new services to its portfolio. “Of course, the anniversary of our parents’ company fills us with pride and gratitude”, says Susanne-Petra Heinemann. “Nevertheless, it should ‘only’ be seen as a stopover on our journey shaped by continued success going forward.” Digitisation plays an important role along the way: “For our company, it means the will and courage to change. In doing so, we rely on what exists now and what has been proven in the past, while also delivering the continuous improvement of processes and structures thanks to digital solutions.”

And, in all of this, the values of our entrepreneurial family always remain clearly in view: “In addition to constant further development and a process of adaptation to the ever-changing operating conditions, we do not lose sight of our demands for quality.” This quality underpinning the transport services offered and, above all, permanent quality assurance, are very important issues for Spedition Heinemann. In order to implement both in a meaningful way in what can be characterised as the “rough and tumble” of everyday logistics, processes have been implemented for all work steps. The freight forwarding company is certified according to the quality management standard DIN ISO 9001:2015: This covers both national and international cargo transport operations, new furniture and removal transport, as well as warehousing and logistics. Consignments and routes can be tracked thanks to telematics, and the warehouses operate with the assistance of IT support. Sustainability also plays a key role for the company. In order to be able to reliably offer its customers sustainable, environmentally rooted solutions going forward, certification in line with DIN ISO 14001:2015 is planned for spring 2021.
